Girls, this is actually a posting in my blog. Since it has some relevance to what we have discussed in class today, I thought of letting you share my thoughts. After that, may be you can tell me what you understand by this special thing that we call LOVE.
LOVE. Such a simple word yet carries a complex meaning that stretches beyond infinite definitions, bearing stricking contrast from one person to another. Though people may define and perceive LOVE differently, the world has unanimously agreed that it is an entity that stirs human emotions and affects people's lives. With love, we laugh and with it we also cry. The world is full of scars left by this thing we call LOVE. Throughout the history of the humankind, we observe how LOVE can drive men or women, young or old, rich or poor, kind or evil to act irrationally. LOVE that can excite and stimulate human desires can create tension and leave tremendous impact on people's emotions, thus, contributing to wonderful experiences to be shared. The early creation of human beings taught us that LOVE is an integral part of our being. We can observe how LOVE destined Adam and Eve to be inseparable. Because of the fall of Adam and Eve, some people blame LOVE,labeling it - a profane entity - stripping it of its rights to be in heaven. As such, some people go to the extreme of shunning LOVE, while some approach LOVE with full caution because of its destructive power. What happened to the Helen of Troy and Cleopatra are popular classic examples. On the other hand, a lot of other people cherish LOVE, guarding this God given treasure with all their life. What about you? Where does LOVE fit in your life? I just want to share with you some of the love concepts in some of the world great literatures. But i will only do that after you tell me your understanding of LOVE. What is LOVE to you? Would LOVE hurt you? Whatever love means to you, it doesn't matter for LOVE is universal and with its presence, anything is possible.

To me, love is a powerful force that can be both mighty constructive as well as dangerously destructive. This can be seen from the devotion of the Sahabats to Nabi S.A.W., Adam & Eve (as mentioned) or even Romeo & Juliet. For love to prosper, one must give some in order to get some (heck, this is true for almost anything in life, isn't it?)Some people have it easier in love while others go through a mile of rejections & breakups before finding the one he/she is intended to be with. So much so is the hurt that there are those who refuse to play the game of love but want the result i.e. in Malay 'tak ingin melalui percintaan tapi inginkan kebahagiaan bersama teman.' That just doesn't happen as it affects the balance of order, in fairy tales it might, but not in reality. Yes, love can hurt you, makes you destroy thyself but love is also what makes you persevere till you succeed. In short, you need to accept love as a whole package; the joy, the hate, the happiness, the sadness, the sacrifice, the devotion etc. There is no piecemeal to it.
